Private by design: this tool runs 100% in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent, stored, or tracked.
How to use this calculator
- Choose a length (16+ characters recommended).
- Toggle uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols.
- Click generate — copy with one tap.
- Prefer memorable passwords? Switch to passphrase mode.
Why this is secure
Passwords are generated with the Web Crypto API (crypto.getRandomValues), a cryptographically secure random number generator — not Math.random(). A 16-character password from all character classes has about 95 bits of entropy: infeasible to brute-force.
Strength guide
12 characters ≈ good for low-value accounts. 16+ characters ≈ strong for important accounts. A 5-word passphrase ≈ strong and memorable. Always pair with a password manager and two-factor authentication.
About this tool
Weak and reused passwords cause most account takeovers. This generator creates cryptographically strong random passwords — and because it runs entirely in your browser, your passwords are never sent over the network, logged, or seen by anyone.
Frequently asked questions
Are generated passwords sent to a server?
No — never. Generation happens locally with your browser's cryptographic RNG. You can even disconnect from the internet and it keeps working.
How long should my password be?
At least 12 characters for casual accounts, 16+ for email, banking, and anything important. Length beats complexity: a long passphrase outperforms a short jumble of symbols.
Should I use the same password everywhere?
No — reuse is the biggest risk. Use a unique password per site with a password manager, so one breach doesn't cascade.
What is passphrase mode?
It joins random dictionary words (e.g. 'correct-horse-battery-staple' style). Easier to type and remember while remaining strong due to length.
